Chiclana

Today we went back to Chiclana de la Frontera. It is a typical Spanish town. It is surrounded by industrial units and apparently a lot of furniture is made there. When you go past this you come to a pleasant working town. They have a lot of Bodegas there as it is a sherry producing area. We visited 2 weeks ago and found the covered market which was full of meat, fish and fruit and veg stalls. This time the market was closed down and a brand new one had opened in a large shopping precinct. It was very busy and very lively and surprisingly full of atmosphere for a new set up. As usual we found time for a coffee in the pensionistas as well, it was very full and very loud. Chiclana has a large urbanisation on the coast with golf courses and villas but I much prefer the old town.
